Keeper keen to extend Baggies stay

Dean Kiely has revealed he will hold talks with West Brom about a new deal later this month. The veteran goalkeeper's current contract expires at the end of the season and Kiely is keen to extend his stay at The Hawthorns. The 39-year-old combines playing with a coaching role at the club and the former Charlton custodian plans to sit down and discuss his future the Baggies officials this month. "I'm still a player so when I'm out on the field playing I'm also a coach," Kiely told the Sunday Mercury. "It's time-consuming, all-encompassing, and I love it. It's fantastic. "My contract is up at the end of this season but we will talk in January.

Very confident

"I'm very confident in what I bring to the football club and the people who need to know, like Dan Ashworth (Albion's sporting and technical director) and the chairman, know what I can do. "I'm very confident in my abilities. I know what I bring to the club on the field and the coaching as well. "I have a good feel for this club, what it's about and the infrastructure of the club. "That may sound daft because a football club is a football club but I get the same feel I did at Charlton where I felt most comfortable. "It's about the people in the building, people in the dressing room, the club - I like what Dan Ashworth wants to do, his philosophies on how football should be run. "We seem to have similar views and it only feels natural to continue. But I'm not expecting anything to happen - we will have discussions and see where we go."
