Midfielder looking for new club after leaving Peterborough

Torquay United boss Paul Buckle has confirmed his interest in signing former Peterborough United midfielder Dean Keates. The 31-year-old was released by Posh last week, with his contract at the Championship club having been due to expire at the end of the season. He is on the look-out for a new club and could be offered the chance to join up with League Two side Torquay. Buckle admits there is competition for Keates' signature, but is hoping he may be able to persuade the player to move to Plainmoor. "Keates is someone we like," Buckle told the Herald Express. "Whether we can get him is another matter. "He knows we are interested, but so are several other clubs. "He has family down here, and that might help us."
