Birmingham City have decided against making a move for Slovakian striker Jan Novak,
skysports.com understands.
The MFK Kosice forward spent time training with the Blues last month as he looks to earn a move to the Premier League.
Blues boss Alex McLeish admitted he was impressed with Novak and was considering a move.
However, Birmingham have now informed Kosice that they will not be pressing ahead with a move for Novak, who is now being linked with a move to Italy.
It is believed that McLeish is still looking for a new front-man and he could yet make a move for Rangers ace Kris Boyd who he attempted to sign a year ago.
Boyd, who is the subject of an offer from Middlesbrough, is out-of-contract at the end of the season.
