Bury have released defender David Thompson after his short-term deal came to an end and was not extended.
Thompson came through the club's youth system and was handed a six-month contract over the summer in order to prove himself.
However, he failed to make a first-team appearance and boss Alan Knill said: "David has gone and I am more disappointed for him.
"We gave him six months because we felt that he really needed to push himself and to show us that he was worth the contract, and in our opinion - he hasn't really done that."
