Staunton impressed by on-loan keeper's attitude
Darlington have agreed to extend the loan deal of Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Shane Redmond until the end of the season.
Redmond joined League Two's bottom club on an initial month's loan in January and has made five appearances to date.
He will now see out the campaign with the Quakers and manager Steve Staunton is happy to be keeping hold of the 20-year-old.
"Shane has had a very positive effect,'' said Staunton in the
Northern Echo.
"His attitude to everything is first class and we are delighted to keep him. It was a position I was concerned about when I came here, but Shane has proved that he is worthy of keeping the shirt for the foreseeable future.
"He has a good understanding with the back four. He is going to stay with us because we want continuity.
"I like to see my goalkeeper come for crosses and dominate the box. I'd rather that than seeing him stay rooted to his line."
