English clubs eye Crusaders captain

Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter has admitted there is English interest in skipper Colin Coates. Coates is currently only playing part-time for Crusaders, while also working as a fitness instructor. But this has not prevented him from catching the eye of Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington - who handed him his full international debut last year. Coates is now attracting interest from England, but boss Stephen Baxter admits nobody has made a firm bid for the 24-year-old. "We have a number of people who are making enquires about him," Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter told Sky Sports News. "But nothing has ever been firm and you have to react to facts and nobody has come across and said we would like to do this and this. "But Colin is a very sensible boy, he has a good stable family life and a good-level head on his shoulders and he is working as hard as he can." Coates admits it can be hard playing and working. "It can be tough to fit in training and football, it takes up a lot of time and you have to cope with it - but I wouldn't have it any other way," he insisted.
