Aussie stopper's nightmare time with Norwich comes to an end

Australian goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos has had his Norwich contract cancelled by mutual consent. The 29-year-old has had a disastrous time at Carrow Road since his move from Melbourne Victory last summer and will not add to his one appearance for the Canaries. Theoklitos played between the sticks on the opening day of the season for Norwich, and he made a number of errors in a humiliating 7-1 home defeat to Colchester. Former manager Bryan Gunn, who brought the stopper to the club, was eventually replaced by Paul Lambert, who masterminded that emphatic victory, and Theoklitos has slipped down the pecking order ever since. Youngster Declan Rudd has been preferred as back-up for number one Fraser Forster, meaning chances in the first team have been few and far between. Theoklitos, who has Greek ancestry, will now be looking for a new club, and he is reportedly interested in staying in England.
