Striker out for the remainder of the season

Hartlepool have been dealt a blow with the news striker Denis Behan could be ruled out for the rest of the season after damaging ankle ligaments. The 26-year-old, sidelined for six weeks at the end of last season due to a similar injury, was stretchered off during the reserves' defeat at Rotherham this week. Behan told the club's official website: "It's exactly the same as my last injury. It's actually uncanny how similar it is though it hasn't swollen quite as badly as it did the last time. "I was just running backwards for a ball and went over on my ankle. I heard a little crack and straight away I knew what I'd done and told the physio at the time. "I'm hoping I can get back before the end of the season, but I've been told four to six weeks. "Obviously I want to be back and play as many games as I can, but if it doesn't settle down how we'd like then I'll make sure it's right before I play again."
