Leicester City club captain Stephen Clemence has announced his retirement from professional football.
The midfielder has been struggling with a long-running heel problem and has decided to call it quits.
The 32-year-old has not featured for the Foxes since March 2008, in a 1-0 win over Scunthorpe at the Walkers Stadium.
He joined the club from Birmingham in July 2007, but has been restricted to just 34 appearances since then.
Clemence scored his first goal for Leicester in a 3-2 win over East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest in a Carling Cup clash in September 2007, and went on to score two further goals for the club.
He began his career at Tottenham Hotspur and made over 100 appearances for the capital club before being moved on to Birmingham.
The son of former England goalkeeper Ray Clemence, he hangs up his boots after 13 years at the top of his profession.
