Midfielder reveals interest from Holland
Benjamin van den Broek has confirmed his desire to stay with Shrewsbury despite receiving offers from clubs back in his native Holland.
The midfielder arrived at Shrewsbury in February on a deal until the end of the season after his then club Haarlem went out of business.
The Shrews did well to fight off competition for his signature and a host of clubs are again chasing his services.
However, Van den Broek wants to remain in Shropshire, providing a deal is put on the table.
"I think I want to stay here if the club offers me a contract, I think I'm going to sign it," he told
Radio Shropshire.
Settled
"It depends on what they offer me, I have offers from clubs in Holland.
"I can sign a contract for a few years at a club in Holland which is closer to home, but I just like it at Shrewsbury."
Van den Broek admits it took him time to adjust to his new surroundings, but he is now happy with Paul Simpson's side.
He added: "It wasn't easy at the beginning, I missed my country and family, but I'm living with a few of the players and they've helped me a lot.
"I've now settled in and getting used to English football."
