Oldham Athletic have released Hasney Aljofree and taken Chelsea defender Kenny Strickland on trial.

Chelsea youngster among three trialists for reserves

Oldham Athletic have released Hasney Aljofree at the end of his short-term contract and taken Chelsea defender Kenny Strickland on trial. Aljofree joined the Latics in February after being let go by Swindon Town, but has struggled to make an impact at Boundary Park. The defender only made his first appearance for the club in Saturday's defeat at Yeovil Town and he has not been offered an extension by manager Dave Penney. Meanwhile, Chelsea youngster Strickland will line up for Oldham's reserves in Wednesday's meeting against Carlisle United. The teenager can play at right-back or in the centre of defence and is one of three trialists who will feature for the Latics' second string. Jermaine Johnson, who is being released by Derby County and recently trained with Plymouth Argyle, is in the team along with former Chester City centre-half Kristian Platt.
