Norwich have released five players, including former Republic of Ireland international Gary Doherty. Forwards Jamie Cureton and Paul McVeigh have also been told their contracts will not be renewed, along with former Academy scholars Damon Lathrope and Danny Kelly. Doherty made 227 appearances during his six years at Carrow Road and won the club's player of the year award in 2006. He also finished third in this season's supporters' player of the year poll after scoring seven goals in 44 games. Canaries boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website: "Gary has done really well for us and played a big part this season. "He leaves the club after nearly six years of solid service and we're grateful for all the effort he's put in for Norwich during that time." Lambert also paid tribute to the other four players being let go, adding: "Everyone at Carrow Road and Colney wants to wish all of these players all the very best for the future."
