Defender leaves Monaco for pastures new
Senegalese defender Massamba Sambou has moved from Monaco to Greek side Atromitos Athens on a three-year deal.
The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Nantes, having spent the campaign before on loan at Le Havre.
Financial details of the transfer were not revealed but Sambou now has the chance to cut his teeth in the Greek first division.
He said: "I had proposals from several teams in the French second division and three proposals from first division clubs, but Atromitos is giving me the opportunity in my career and they are a very interesting football club and I am certain I made the right choice.
"I am committed and dedicated 100 per cent to the objectives and obligations of Atromitos."
Sambou moved to French Ligue 1 outfit Monaco in 2004, and has earned one cap for Senegal.
