Algeria coach Rabah Saadane has insisted that the decision to drop Yazid Mansouri has had no adverse effect on his side's morale.
Mansouri was considered a certain starter for Algeria in their World Cup Group C encounter with Slovenia in Polokwane on Sunday.
However, Saadane confirmed on Thursday he deems the midfielder, Algeria's most experienced player at the World Cup with 67 caps, out of form and set for a role as a substitute.
The decision has led to concerns that the team's spirit could suffer, but Saadane has assured otherwise.
"I think the team has become used to playing a large number of matches with some people missing," he said.
"We have always tried to work from a psychological and technical perspective as a team and we will work with the team that is on the pitch on the day.
"It is how the team responds collectively on the day which will decide how we play.
"I will put people on the pitch who are psychologically and technically ready for the match.
"If there are any weaknesses then the spirit of the group will carry us forward."
Meanwhile, Anther Yahia has recovered from a left ankle injury and is set to be fit for the encounter versus Slovenia.
