St Mirren manager Danny Lennon is hopeful Steven Robb will sign a new contract with the club.
Robb joined the Buddies in May 2008 after being released by Dundee United, and he has since made 36 league appearances for the side.
His current contract with St Mirren is due to expire this summer, but Lennon is keen to tie him down on fresh terms.
He said: "We have given Steven Robb a one-year offer and we hope to hear back from him on it by next Tuesday.
"He is away to discuss the offer with his wife and his agent.
"You obviously can never say anything until it is all done, but I must admit that I was encouraged by his comments which for me are a positive sign."
