Midfielder insists he has not signed new deal

Ivorian international Kafoumba Coulibaly has not renewed his contract with Nice, skysports.com can reveal.

The midfielder, who has been linked with Premier League clubs Fulham, Birmingham and West Brom, reportedly extended his deal with the French club by five years.

But Coulibaly, speaking exclusively to skysports.com, insists he has not agreed a new contract with the club.

"I was very surprised, when I was on holiday, to learn I have renewed my contract with Nice," said Coulibaly.

"My contract runs until 2012, I have not signed a five-year contract with the club.

"I don't know where that one has come from. I did not sign a new contract. If it is a tactic to put teams off me then it is wrong."

Future

Coulibaly, who was omitted from the Ivory Coast's World Cup squad this summer, hopes to ply his trade in the Premier League in the future.

"I need to get back in the Ivorian squad," he said. "This season I am at Nice, but to be honest until the transfer window closes you never know.

"I am very interested in playing either in England, Spain or Germany - they have the biggest leagues in the world.

"To play in the English league would be fantastic for my career. I love the physical battle in the Premier League, so hopefully I will be there one day."
