Ishiaku and Matip told to look for new clubs

Cologne boss Zvonimir Soldo has told striker Manasseh Ishiaku and midfielder Marvin Matip that they are surplus to requirements and are free to leave the club. The Bundesliga club are currently on a pre-season training camp in Austria where they are preparing for their campaign-opener against Kaiserslautern on 21st August. Soldo has used the tour as an opportunity to formulate his tactics for 2010/11 and he has decided that former Nigeria international Ishiaku and ex-Germany Under 21 midfielder Matip will not play a part. "Manasseh and Marvin have been told they do not feature in my future plans, both players are allowed to look for a new club to continue their career elsewhere," Soldo told Deutsche Presseagentur. Both Ishiaku and Matip had one year left on their contracts with Cologne, having joined from MSV Duisburg and VfL Bochum respectively.
