Winger leaving Plainmoor

Out-of-contract Torquay winger Wayne Carlisle will not be offered a new deal with the League Two outfit. Carlisle, 30, was a pivotal member of the club's promotion-winning squad in 2008/09 and made 24 league appearances last season, but he has been dogged by niggling injuries and is currently recovering from a long-term knee problem. He was hoping to extend his two-year stint at Plainmoor but manager Paul Buckle has revealed his time in a Torquay shirt is at an end. "I've told Wayne that he can come back and train here if he wants, but there won't be a new offer for him," Buckle told thisisdevon.co.uk. "Wayne has played a big part in what we've done here over the last two years. Wayne and I have worked together for a while now - at Exeter and Torquay - and he's a top pro. "But it's time to go our separate ways, and I wish him all the best in the future."
