Frenchman snubs Peterborough deal

Defender Franck Queudrue has signed for Greek club Panionios after turning down a move to Peterborough. The 31-year-old has penned a deal with the Greek top-flight outfit after spending a period on trial with Posh. Manager Gary Johnson was disappointed to miss out on the Frenchman, but is not too downhearted and believes Queudrue's trial shows the club's ambition. "Panionios offered him a great deal, but Franck said he enjoyed his time with us and that he definitely would have come to us if they hadn't come in late and fast for him," he told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "He enjoyed his time with us and there is no doubt he would have been a great signing, but the fact that he even came here in the first place proves the ambition we have. "But Ryan Bennett and Kelvin Langmead were excellent at the back against Nottingham Forest so we do have good players in that position. "We just have to get Gaby Zakuani fit now. His progress has been a bit slower than we would have hoped for, but he trained yesterday (Monday)."
