Grant considering reunion with Belgium international

Skysports.com understands West Ham United are keen to sign former Portsmouth loanee Anthony Vanden Borre. The Belgium international, who can play in defence or midfield, has returned to Italian club Genoa after spending last season with Portsmouth. He made 25 appearances at Fratton Park, but has rejected the opportunity to rejoin Pompey following the club's relegation to the Championship. German outfit Cologne have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but it is understood that West Ham are interested in a deal. Hammers boss Avram Grant worked with Vanden Borre at Portsmouth last term and is weighing up a reunion with the former Anderlecht youngster. He has already brought Tal Ben Haim and Frederic Piquionne to Upton Park after working with the duo at Portsmouth and Vanden Borre could be the next player to arrive. Grant has been busy adding to his squad in recent weeks and remains eager to improve his numbers before the transfer window closes.
