Winger grasps opportunity to impress on trial
Former Coventry City winger Ellery Cairo has secured a contract with Heracles Almelo for the rest of the season.
Cairo had been available on a free transfer after leaving NAC Breda in the summer and has recently been on trial with Heracles.
The 32-year-old has shown enough to warrant a deal and Heracles praised Cairo for grasping his opportunity to impress.
"He has in recent weeks had a fair chance to prove himself here and show that he will improve our squad," director Nico-Jan Hoogma told the club's
official website.
"He grabbed that chance and so Ellery has signed a contract for the remainder of the season."
Cairo made nine appearances for Coventry during the 2007/08 season and also numbers Feyenoord, Excelsior (loan), FC Twente, Freiburg and Hertha Berlin among his former clubs.
