Brazil-born striker Cleo has been granted citizenship by the Serbian government.
Cleo, whose full name is Cleverson Gabriel Cordova, could now feature in the nation's Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.
The 25-year-old striker signed for Partizan in 2009, after playing for rival Red Star Belgrade for a year.
Serbia's next qualifier is against Estonia on 8th October before playing in Italy four days later, although it remains to be seen whether he is handed an immediate call-up
Serbia have four points from their first two qualifying matches in Group C, having beaten the Faroe Islands and drawn with Slovenia.
