Broken ankle sidelines midfielder
St Mirren have suffered a blow with the news that Nick Hegarty faces three months on the sidelines after breaking his ankle.
The 24-year-old sustained the problem during last weekend's defeat to Inverness.
The news is a major blow to Hegarty having only joined the Paisley club on transfer deadline day.
St Mirren manager Danny Lennon told the club's
official website: "Nick Hegarty fractured his ankle and the outlook isn't too good. It looks as if Nick will be out for a minimum of three months."
Meanwhile, Lennon has had two players on trial this week - former Clyde full-back Michael McGowan and midfielder Toufik Zerara, who had a brief stint at Falkirk last season.
