Midfielder reveals relief at securing new deal with Silkmen
Macclesfield Town midfielder Paul Bolland is enjoying life at Moss Rose after a good run of form that has taken the club to the fringes of the League Two play-offs.
The 30-year-old was released by Gary Simpson at the end of last season before an 11th hour change of heart by the Macclesfield boss saw Bolland return to the club.
The former Notts County man was concerned about finding a new club in the summer and was relieved to secure a new deal with the Silkmen.
Bolland told
skysports.com: "I was in the same position as a number of players in the summer looking for a club and going on trial.
"I spent a week at York City before the gaffer gave me a call to sign again. It was a relief as I was getting a bit worried!"
Feeling good
Bolland originally joined the Silkmen in the summer of 2009 when he left Grimsby after four years at Blundell Park, the last season of which he spent sidelined with a knee injury.
He added: "It was a bad injury that I picked up at Grimsby and it took a while to get to full fitness at Macc last season, but after a good pre-season under my belt I'm feeling good."
Macclesfield sit in 10th place after a run of just one defeat in six games ,and Bolland feels that the team are beginning to get some consistency together.
"The gaffer has got the team working hard and we are now beginning to play with some confidence," he continued.
"Hopefully we can push on and challenge at the top end of the league."
