Former Dutch U21 international aiming to impress at Watford

Jeroen Drost is to be given an opportunity to impress at Watford during a trial spell. The Vitesse Arnhem defender will travel to England on 8th January and spend a period training with the Hornets. The 23-year-old has been informed by coach Albert Ferrer that he is free to leave the club, with the Spaniard keen to bring in reinforcements. Drost also has an offer from Cyprus to consider, but is looking forward to testing himself at Vicarage Road. He admits he is unsure what will come of his time with Watford, but has been impressed by the club's efforts in the Championship this term.

Talks

"This is a good chance, with a good club," Drost told Omroep Gelderland. "I will take a look at the club, train there and afterwards we will talk further. "They have seen me play against NAC Breda and FC Twente. I have followed their results and they are doing well. "I don't know what Vitesse want. Maybe they want to loan me out."
