Hull City have signed Tunisia international Tijani Belaid on a two-and-a-half-year deal after he impressed on trial.
The midfielder, who arrives at the KC Stadium on a free transfer, makes the move after reaching a formal agreement with former club Slavia Prague over money that was owed to him.
The 23-year-old, who joined Slavia from boyhood club Inter Milan in 2007, reportedly settled for half of what he was originally due in order to move to the Championship.
His agent Pavel Zika said: "Slavia have reached a written agreement in accord with Belaid and then gave him transfer clearance, which every player needs for any transfer."
Belaid has enjoyed considerable success at Slavia, helping them to back-to-back domestic league titles in 2008 and 2009.
However, the midfielder fell out of favour at the club after struggling with a thyroid gland problem.
He also experienced discipline issues at the Czech outfit, once kicking a bottle of water at coach Michel Petrous after being substituted.
Belaid, who has been in England since last week, also spent time on trial at City's Championship rivals Cardiff before deciding to make a move to the Yorkshire club.
