Defender completes move from Bayern

Hoffenheim have completed the signing of Dutch defender Edson Braafheid from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old left-back has penned a three-year contract with Hoffenheim after the two parties agreed an undisclosed fee. Braafheid had a disappointing spell at the Allianz Arena following a move from FC Twente in 2009 and is keen to reignite his career. "This is important for my development, especially in regards to the national team," he said.

Deal

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim are set to finalise a deal with manager Marco Pezzaiuoli that will improve his current terms. Until the start of this month Pezzaiuoli had worked as assistant to Ralf Rangnick but following his resignation, Pezzaiuoli is now in charge. Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said: "We have been monitoring this to ensure this will be very much a no issue for the future. "And we are planning to get this (a new and improved contract for Marco Pezzaiuoli) done at the start of the week."
