Newcastle misfit rejoins former club on loan until end of season

Newcastle misfit Xisco has returned to former club Deportivo La Coruna on loan until the end of the season. The striker moved to St James' Park in a £5.7million switch in 2008 but has made only 11 appearances for the Magpies. He has scored just once - on his debut against Hull City - and was loaned to Racing Santander during the 2009/10 campaign. The 24-year-old has not featured since two substitute outings back in August and he has rejoined Deportivo on loan until June.

Returning home

A delighted Xisco told the Spanish club's official website: "I'm returning to my home. "Deportivo have given me everything and I've come here focused on helping the team reach their objectives." Xisco was one of three signings by Deportivo on transfer deadline day, joining striker Jose Sand and winger Javito at the club. The attacking trio have all initially joined on loan until June, although in the case of Argentinean striker Sand, Depor have the option to buy him at the end of his deal for three million euros (£2.56m). The 30-year-old Sand has been plying his trade for Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates, while 27-year-old Javito joins from Greek side Aris Thessaloniki. The trio will bolster a forward line that has struggled for goals this season, with the Galician side currently 14th in the standings, four points above the relegation zone.
