Frankfurt midfielder Benjamin Kohler has finally put pen to paper on a new contract.

Ochs did not want to quit in order to move to Schalke

Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Benjamin Kohler has finally put pen to paper on a new contract at Commerzbank-Arena. The versatile attack-minded left-footer has signed new terms which will keep him at the club until June 2014. Kohler, 30, had no doubts about committing his future to the mid-table Bundesliga club before his previous deal expired at the end of the season. He told Frankfurt's official website: "I am glad to have signed new terms and I am happy to go on being a player of Frankfurt. "This delights me. I am looking forward to remaining here and staying living in the beautiful Frankfurt area." Meanwhile, Frankfurt captain Patrick Ochs insists it was his own decision to turn down a last-gasp transfer to fellow Bundesliga side Schalke in January. He said: "To remain with Frankfurt and not to leave for Schalke was very much my own decision. "I made the decision to stay on simply because everything seemed to get too rushed at the very end of the story."
