Lincoln have bolstered their squad for the remainder of the season with the signing of Portsmouth midfielder Tom Kilbey on an emergency loan deal.
Kilbey will go straight into manager Steve Tilson's squad for Friday's League Two clash with promotion chasing Rotherham at Sincil Bank.
And there could be further transfer activity from Tilson later on Thursday with the Red Imps boss eager to bring in a new goalkeeper.
Lincoln have been left short on options with their last line of defence following Sunderland's decision to recall Trevor Carson.
Midfielder Kilbey has featured for Pompey's first team this season and was on target in their FA Cup third round exit at Brighton.
The 20-year-old, who started his career with Millwall and made his bow for the Lions aged just 16, has previously enjoyed a loan spell with Dagenham & Redbridge.
