Rennes have revealed that highly-rated goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez will leave for PSG over the summer.

Keeper spurns contract offer in favour of switch to Parc des Princes

Rennes have revealed that highly-rated goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez will leave for Paris St Germain at the end of the season. The 31-year-old informed coach Pierre Dreossi of his decision over the weekend. Rennes have reluctantly bowed to his wishes and are preparing to bid farewell to Douchez, who has been included in several France squads this season. They had been hoping that the in-form shot-stopper would opt to remain at the club, with a new four-year contract put to him, but accept that he will now walk away as a free agent. "He has chosen Paris," said Dreossi. "For us it is clear. From this moment on we are going to speed up the process of thinking of who is the best option to replace him." Reports in France suggest Rennes will turn their attention to Nice's Colombian keeper, David Ospina, who was a target for PSG earlier in the season.
