Veteran midfielder targeting Scotland's top flight

Former Rangers midfielder Charlie Miller is hoping to be playing SPL football again next season. The 35-year-old is on the lookout for a new club having ended last term helping out Third Division outfit Clyde. Miller made his SPL bow for Gers 17 years ago before leaving Ibrox in 1999 to play for the likes of Watford and Dundee United. The veteran has since played in Belgium, Norway and Australia, but he is determined to make an impact on home soil. "I'm going to get a good pre-season behind me and try to get a club in the SPL," he told the News of the World. "I still have ambitions to play in the SPL - the key is being fit. "I agreed to help out at Clyde and I played the last five games for them, but I wasn't match fit so it wasn't great."
