The Scottish midfielder is a free agent after leaving Coventry at the end of the season and is now a target for several Championship and League One sides.
Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, Doncaster and Barnsley are among those believed to be keen on bringing in the 31-year-old.
McIndoe's appearances at the Ricoh Arena were limited last term due to financial reasons as he was about to hit an appearance-related clause in his contract.
But he remains a talented performer who has great experience following previous spells with several clubs including Doncaster, Barnsley and Bristol City.
