Free agent goalkeeper could provide back up to Kenny and Cerny

Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are closing in on former Ipswich goalkeeper Brian Murphy. The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving Portman Road in May when his contract expired. QPR, having returned to the Premier League, are interested in Murphy in order to give Neil Warnock's squad some depth. The shot-stopper would provide back up to Paddy Kenny and Radek Cerny and would ensure Warnock has plenty of options. Murphy signed for Ipswich from Bohemians in January 2010 and went on to make 25 appearances. But he did not play under Paul Jewell because a broken ankle kept him out for three months from the end of December.
