Midfielder to join Chinese Super League champions Shandong Luneng
China international Hao Junmin is set to leave Schalke and return to his homeland.
The 24 year-old has struggled to hold down a regular spot at the Bundesliga outfit since joining from Tianjin Teda in January 2010.
He made 14 league appearances in total, three German Cup matches and two UEFA Champions League games during his one-and-a-half-year stay at the club.
According to Schalke's official website, the midfielder will join Chinese Super League champions Shandong Luneng with immediate effect.
"That has to be the right decision as far as his development as a player is concerned," said director of sport Horst Heldt.
"We wish him all the best for the future."
