Hitman to look elsewhere for new club

Argentinian striker Mariano Pavone has confirmed that talks with Blackburn over a potential move have completely broken down. The 29-year-old had agreed a three-year deal contract at Ewood Park but the Premier League side were unable to finalise the deal. Pavone, who is a free agent after buying out the remaining year of his contract at Real Betis, claims negotiations collapsed when they could not reach an agreement over the financial side of the deal. And the former River Plate hitman, who is also thought to have attracted interest from Liverpool, Fulham and Swansea, will now look elsewhere for a new club. "We couldn't reach an accord over the question of money and now I will look at other clubs," he told Argentinian newspaper Ole. Pavone has been heavily linked with a move to native club Lanus and reports suggest he could complete a deal in the coming days.
