Ambitious second tier outfit Dynamo Dresden have reached an agreement for Wolfgang Hesl and could move for Mickael Pote.
Dresden are set to land Hesl for an undisclosed fee from Hamburg.
The goalkeeper will pen a two-year contract upon his arrival at a side that only secured promotion out of the German third division last season.
The 25-year-old has spent the last seven years with Hamburg, but he has slowly slipped down the pecking throughout his stay.
Dresden can offer him the regular action he carves and general manager Steffen Menze is delighted to have secured his signature.
He told
Sportsinformationsdienst: "We are delighted to have captured Wolfgang Hesl and to bring him to our club.
"Considering our situation regarding goalkeepers, we had no option but to do this.
"As Benjamin Kirsten is injured for an indefinite period of time, we have been unable to prepare properly over recent weeks."
Targets
Meanwhile, Dresden are also reported to be keen on Nice striker Pote.
The Benin international is currently out of favour with his French employers and may be tempted to take on a new challenge.
Dresden manager Ralf Loose has refused to confirm that he is in the market for the 26-year-old, but he does admit that further arrivals are likely.
He told
BILD: "Our plans have not changed. We have time left in the transfer window and we are keen to sign one left-back and two more strikers.
"We are looking at several options and we also have players on trial. They have done well and will stay with us until we have reached a clear verdict on them."
