Spanish forward leaves Fenerbahce to go back to Spain

Fenerbahce have revealed that striker Dani Guiza will no longer play for them and will join Getafe this summer. The Turkish giants made the announcement on their official website on Thursday evening, thanking him for "his contributions'' and wishing him "all the best for the future." Sports channel NTVspor reports that the Istanbul-based club have decided not to demand a transfer fee from Getafe and that Guiza will forfeit the money owned to him by them. The 31-year-old joined Fenerbahce after an impressive Euro 2008 campaign which he won with Spain but failed to perform to his level in Istanbul, and missed almost all of the 2010-11 Turkish Super Lig campaign because of injury. Guiza, who was the top scorer in La Liga in the 2007-08 season with Real Mallorca with 27 goals, played for Getafe for two years between 2005 and 2007.
