Veteran striker feels Roda lack confidence

Roda JC striker Mads Junker admits the club are 'in a dip' after a torrid start to the new Eredivisie campaign. Harm van Veldhoven's side have lost five of their opening seven games to leave them a disappointing 15th in the early standings. The Kerkrade club have also conceded 22 goals, scoring just six. Their biggest defeat so far came last weekend when they suffered a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of PSV Eindhoven. Danish veteran Junker, who has netted just one goal so far, admits Roda's current situation is not ideal but feels the team needs time to gel after a squad revamp in the summer. "We're in a dip and we're lacking confidence," Junker told Voetbal Primeur. "You notice that we lack experience after the departure of some players. "Although the new boys are doing their best, we only know each other a bit. That takes time."
