Gradi feels striker is no better than young players already at club
Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi has confirmed he will not be signing Swindon Town striker Jordan Pavett on loan.
Pavett, who won a competition to secure a 12-month contract at Swindon earlier this year, has been training with Crewe this week and featured for the reserves against Bolton Wanderers.
However, Gradi has opted against pursuing a loan deal for the 19-year-old as he does not believe Pavett will improve his squad at Gresty Road.
"I went to watch the reserves play at Bolton and we thought that he was not as good as what we already have here," Gradi told the club's
official website.
"We want someone to go into the team or be on the verge of the team and he isn't at that level yet. I have my own young players here."
