Nurnberg defender to miss at least three weeks of action
FC Nurnberg full-back Javier Pinola has been ruled out of Bundesliga action for at least three weeks.
The club have confirmed that the Argentine defender has a thigh injury following the results of a scan.
Nurnberg are mid-table after an inconsistent start to Germany's top flight this season and Pinola has featured in all eight of their games.
The 28-year-old admitted that he was relieved by the extent of the damage and hopes to return to action for Dieter Hecking's side as soon as possible.
Pains
He told
BILD: "I am happy the MRI scan has uncovered the reason for my recent pains.
"I now know what is going on with me. It has been up and down in the last few weeks.
"I had feared the worse, I am definitely hoping to return at the end of this month, but I do not want to put myself under pressure at the moment.
"I have never had an injury like this before, so I will have to see."
