Striker set to return to training following lengthy lay-off

Hearts striker Calum Elliot is making good progress in his recovery from knee surgery and could soon be back in action. Elliot spent much of last season plagued by a knee problem and was sent under the knife in March, ruling him out for at least six months. There were fears that he could even be sidelined until Christmas, but the 24-year-old has been working hard to regain fitness as quickly as possible and is now poised to return to training. The player's agent, Tommaso Angelini, has been delighted with Elliot's attitude and also respects the Hearts medical team for the job they have done. "Calum is doing well. His injury seems to have healed better than expected and he is ready to train with the other players from next week," Angelini said in the Daily Record.

Feeling great

"He has been doing ball work for the last two weeks but he is now ready to train with the group again. "He feels great and the specialist was really happy with him. "What I have to say is what a fantastic job the Hearts medical team have done in helping his rehabilitation. "He is now itching to get back into the team and looking to show Paulo Sergio what he can do."
