Brazilian defender back after spell on the sidelines
Veteran defender Cris is ready to make a first team return at Lyon, handing coach Remi Garde a welcome selection poser.
The 34-year-old has missed the last two months of competition with a thigh problem.
During his absence, Lyon have seen Bakari Kone and Dejan Lovren form a formidable partnership at the heart of their back four.
Cris could struggle to force his way back into the side, but Garde is delighted to have the Brazilian back in contention.
"I won't deny that this will test my management skills," he said.
Captain
"But competition is good for him and all of the players.
"He is a very important player here, and has been here a long time, but his status in the squad does not mean he can walk back into the starting XI.
"But, if he does play, he will get the captain's armband back."
Meanwhile, reports in France suggest Clement Grenier could become the latest Lyon star to commit his future to the club.
It has been suggested that the promising playmaker will follow the lead of Michel Bastos, Hugo Lloris and Maxime Gonalons and agree fresh terms with the Ligue 1 giants.
