Bristol Rovers have already shown interest in free agent defender

Former Plymouth Argyle defender Krisztian Timar has been training with Southend United as he bids to find a new club. The Hungarian has been training with the League Two club after being released at Home Park at the end of August. United boss Paul Sturrock managed Timar at Argyle, when the centre-back was the club's player of the season in 2007/08 before he suffered an injury which required a metal plate in his skull. And Sturrock has now offered the free agent 31-year-old the opportunity to maintain his fitness in a bid to attract a new employer, with Bristol Rovers already having shown interest. "Paul Sturrock gave me the chance to train with the team in order to stay in good shape and I've not only been training but I can also play in their reserve games," Timar told Nemzeti Sport. "I can't do anything else, so I'm looking forward to the chance. Anyone can sign me for free, but it's not easy to get a contract because the football market is full."
