Former Arsenal star Robert Pires has confirmed he has turned down an approach from Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers.
The ex-France international has not played football since turning out for Aston Villa last season, which saw him play nine games for the Midlands club after being signed by Gerard Houllier.
He left at the end of the season, and has been considering offers from Russia and Qatar.
He was linked with a move to Doncaster, who with agent Willie McKay in charge of their transfers, are looking to bolster their ranks with big names.
McKay has already brought in the likes of El-Hadji Diouf, Pascal Chimbonda and Herita Ilunga - whilst also linked with big-names such as Mahamadou Diarra and Frederic Piquionne.
Pires was another name linked and he has now confirmed that he has opted against taking their offer.
