Pearson ready to let veteran Swiss defender move on
Nigel Pearson has confirmed Leicester City are in talks to cancel Bruno Berner's contract ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
Berner joined the Foxes during Pearson's first spell as manager in 2008 and has made almost 100 appearances for the club.
However, he has not featured for Leicester this season, either under former boss Sven Goran Eriksson or since Pearson returned to the helm.
The Swiss stopper's deal expires at the end of the campaign, but Pearson is trying to reach an agreement for the 34-year-old to leave now.
"We are trying to come to an agreement to settle his contract," said Pearson.
"He is a fantastic professional and a delight to work with, but players do move on."
