Medojevic and Hasani join Bundesliga strugglers

Wolfsburg have bolstered their squad with the signings of Slobodan Medojevic and Ferhan Hasani at the start of the January transfer window. Wolfsburg are 12th at the halfway point in the Bundesliga, only four points clear of the relegation play-off spot, and head coach Felix Magath was keen to move quickly to bring in reinforcements. A double deal has now been announced, with Serbian midfielder Medojevic arriving from Vojvodina Novi Sad and Macedonia forward Hasani coming in from Shkendija Tetovo. Both players are 21 and regarded as exciting prospects for the future, while they will be looking to break into Magath's side as quickly as possible.

Challenging

Medojevic has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, while Hasani has been given a two-and-a-half-year deal and Magath is looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. "Medojevic and Hasani are two young players who have played prominently and made a name for themselves in their respective leagues," said the coach. "They are certainly going to find things more challenging in the Bundesliga so they will both need some time to settle in, but by signing them, my aim is the long-term strengthening of our team." Magath has previously been criticised for his frantic activity in the transfer market, especially during a past stint with Schalke.
