Leicester full-back Michael Ball has been charged by the Football Association with improper conduct.
The charge relates to comments made by the 32-year-old on Twitter, which were improper and/or brought the game into disrepute, while it is further alleged the breach included a reference to a person's or persons' sexual orientation.
Ball has until 4pm on Monday to respond to the charge.
Leicester are currently 13th in the Championship standings but just four points adrift of the play-off zone.
