Former Huddersfield midfielders reunited at Macclesfield
Macclesfield have signed Dwaine Mattis until the end of the season after his contract with Chesterfield was cancelled.
The 30-year-old midfielder played 11 times for the Spireites this season but his chances have been restricted since he returned from an ankle operation in September.
Indeed, it marks quite a change in fortunes for a player who was an ever present last season as Chesterfield claimed the League Two title.
He will at least have a familiar face at his new club in Nat Brown as the two played together at Huddersfield.
Mattis will wear the number 31 jersey but he was signed too late to meet the deadline for this weekend's game against Swindon.
The midfielder has also played for Bury, Barnsley and Walsall during his career.
