Inter confirm midfielder has joined French heavyweights

Inter Milan have confirmed Italian midfielder Thiago Motta has departed the San Siro for French giants Paris St Germain. The Brazilian, who arrived at Inter from Genoa in the summer of 2009, has joined the Ligue 1 heavyweights in a reported €10million (£8.4m) deal. It is thought he has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract in the French capital. The Serie A side said in a statement on their official website: "FC Internazionale announce the transfer of Thiago Motta to PSG. "We wish Thiago a prosperous career in France with PSG." Motta's arrival means PSG's reported Premier League target Clement Chantome could be allowed to leave the Parc des Princes.

Triple signing

Meanwhile, Inter have moved to offset the exits of Motta and Sulley Muntari with a triple signing. The Nerazzurri have snapped up Colombian forward Freddy Guarin, Italy midfielder Angelo Palombo and Brazilian defender Juan. Guarin joins from Portuguese champions Porto on a four-and-a-half year deal, while Palombo arrives on loan at the San Siro from Sampdoria until the end of the season. Juan, not to be confused with his compatriot and namesake at Roma, has joined from Internacional, penning a deal to keep him in Milan until June 2016.
